All children at Debden belong to one of our six houses:
Each house has been carefully named after a significant individual who embodies one of our core school values, providing inspiring role models for our pupils. Every house is led by a teacher and a Year 6 House Captain, who will help to organise events, encourage participation and foster house spirit throughout the year.
-Children can earn points for their house through positive learning behaviour in their lessons, and moving up their class behaviour board. Examples of positive behaviour include showing resilience in their lessons or helping someone who is in need.
-We also use the House system for lots of other events and activities, which allows children within each House to work together, for example on Sports Day.
-At the end of each week, all house points are added up and the House with the most points is celebrated in our Friday afternoon assembly. At the end of each term the children in the House with the most winning weeks are awarded the coveted House Cup!
