Computing

Our Subject Leader for Computing is Miss Rowe.

Our computing curriculum aims to provide children with opportunities to gain knowledge and develop skills that will equip them for life in an ever-changing digital world.

Computing teaches pupils how to work using logical thinking and problem-solving skills. It develops pupils’ ability to write, test and debug algorithms for a particular purpose, such as programming games, and also to use technology in other areas of the curriculum and in the wider world. Throughout all units, pupils learn crucial online safety skills, empowering them to become an ethical, respectful and responsible internet user in all aspects of digital life and to be aware of what they leave in their digital footprint.

Units of learning include 'Computer Systems and Networks', 'Data and Information', 'Creating Media', and 'Programming.' Our series of knowledge organisers and our skills map demonstrate how children's understanding progresses throughout their time at Debden.
