If your child is absent from school, some form of communication either in person, in writing or by telephone is required by 9.30am. If a child is not in school by this time and we have not received notification of a reason, we will contact you by telephone.
Unauthorised absences from Debden Primary Academy have been rare and we want to maintain this record. Requests for holidays will be unauthorised. If your child is going to be absent from school, a leave of absence form needs to be completed which is available from the School Office or from the link below. The Headteacher may request a meeting to talk about what your child will be missing. In exceptional circumstances, days off may be authorised.
We encourage medical appointments to be made out of school hours where possible. If your child is absent due to medical appointments for more than half a day, a leave of absence form must be completed.
If your child is late, or attends an appointment during school hours, they must report to the office on leaving and returning to school and be accompanied by an adult who must sign them in/out.
