As a country, we all need to do what we can to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
From Monday 23rd March, school will be closed.
The Government has closed schools and asked parents to keep their children at home. In order to enable the country to respond to the Covid-19 emergency the Government is directing schools to be open only for those children who are vulnerable, and children whose parents are critical to the Covid-19 response and cannot be safely cared for at home.
Every child who can be safely cared for at home should be.

Debden Church of England Primary Academy is a small school in which each individual child is celebrated and nurtured. Through the collaborative endeavour of pupils, staff, governors and parents, the school plays a pivotal role at the heartbeat of the local community.
Our vision focuses on enhancing every aspect of our children's academic and personal development - underpinned by high expectations and aspirations of all our pupils, excellent standards of teaching and learning, and the promotion of a broad spectrum of key Christian values.
Our dedicated teachers are experts in understanding how children learn best, and tailor their lessons imaginatively to the needs and interests of their pupils. Across our broad and balanced curriculum, children receive a range of stimulating, knowledge-rich learning experiences. As a result, an increasingly large majority of them perform impressively in relation to National Curriculum expectations. Furthermore, the learning qualities and skills that that they develop effectively prepares them for future challenges that lie ahead.
Children at Debden benefit from a number of further aspects that enrich school life - not least exploring the school grounds, which back onto beautiful open countryside. Exposure to a range of high-quality artistic, sporting and character-building stimulus helps to develop them into well-rounded, compassionate and well-mannered individuals.
What makes the school really special, however, is how happy the children are. After all, childhood should be fun! Children at Debden comment on feeling safe, supported, and excited to attend school each day, which is testament to the positive relationships that they build with both adults and their peers.
