At our school we hope that Music engages pupils and increases self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement. Our goal is to inspire pupils to develop a love of many different genres of music and advance their talent as musicians.

The aims of Music in our school are to ensure that all pupils:

-        Perform, listen to and discuss music from a range of historical periods, styles and traditions, including the works of the great composers and musicians.

-        Learn to sing and use their voices to create and compose music independently and as a part of groups

-        To have the opportunity to experiment with musical instruments and music technology.

-        To understand and explore how music is created, produced and communicated

At our school all children participate in a range of musical activities including singing, composing and performing.  They play a range of tuned and untuned instruments, sing a variety of songs and listen to many composers, past and present. Teachers are supported by the Charanga scheme of work.
